Why the need for a Facebook Mobile App? Social marketers are keenly aware mobile is how their messages are increasingly being accessed by fans. However, a method for making sure those messages are optimized for mobile usage has been elusive. Until now.
As a longtime Facebook Preferred Development Consultant, it was with great pride Vitrue was selected by Facebook to develop, demo and introduce the beta of our new mobile Facebook app for marketers during the mobile technology session at the APPNATION III conference in San Francisco (and covered here by TechCrunch).
The technology lets you as marketers create an app on a Facebook Tab. When shared through News Feeds, if mobile users click the link, they will see a mobile experience for that Tab view. Prior to Vitrue’s recent announcement, Tabs and apps on Tabs were not formatted for mobile.

This development comes right at the time we’re learning users engage differently with social-mobile content than they do on desktop/laptop environments. Vitrue’s recently published white paper, “Social Mobile User Engagement,” provided marketers with new data, insights and best practices for effectively reaching and engaging fans who are accessing brands’ content on mobile devices.
Now, when the Vitrue Facebook Mobile App comes out of beta by the end of the year, we’ll be providing the actual tools to help marketers capitalize on that thought leadership and craft messages specifically suited to mobile.
