Top tech startup? While we at Vitrue get our satisfaction being the leading social marketing publishing and moderation tool for the world’s biggest brands, we’re not above wagging our tails when we get a nice pat on the head. And being chosen one of Red Herring’s Top 100 North American Tech Startups is indeed a nice pat.
When you consider that Red Herring editors were among the first to see that little startups like Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay were not only going to go the distance, but become ingrained in our culture, it’s a nice feeling being on that list.

Each top tech startup considered was judged on criteria like financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. They also took a look at our track record and standing compared to the peers in our sector. We hear the competition was pretty intense, which we take as an overall great sign for our industry and its growth prospects as a whole.
But as usual, we’ll put the trophy on our mantle and keep our feet firmly on the ground. For us, the partnerships and relationships we have and will form with marketers as social media grows evermore mainstream and critical is our shiniest prize.
