Working on behalf of McDonald’s, we wanted to highlight the great initiative that our partner, Tribal DDB, brought to life on Facebook leveraging our Agency API.
The flash creative, highlighting the Ronald McDonald House Charities widget, which includes a real-time Twitter stream, was initially developed for a microsite off Facebook. However, using the Vitrue Publisher and the agency API, Tribal DDB was easily able to repurpose the widget for Facebook. The simple turn-key process of building a custom wall application from the existing Flash file, produced a Facebook-friendly application that was served up directly in the fans’ news feeds (where we’ve found over 110x greater reach).
So not only did Tribal DDB repurpose existing assets with ease, but they tapped into the 2.9 million McDonald’s fans and published directly to their fans’ news feeds. Rather than only putting the widget on the Happy Meal Tab, they opted to take full advantage of the news feed and its reach potential.
